How is LOGO! programmed?

With function block diagrams (FBD) in Siemens' LOGO! Soft Comfort software, which includes built-in simulation so the logic can be checked before it's loaded onto the module.

What I/O does the base module support, and can it be expanded?

The base module carries digital inputs and outputs; additional expansion modules add more I/O, and analog signals are supported where the task calls for them. Exact point counts depend on the module variant you choose.

Does LOGO! support networking?

The current LOGO! 8 generation supports Ethernet and Modbus TCP and includes a built-in web server, which covers most single-panel monitoring and integration needs.

When should we use KNX instead of LOGO!?

LOGO! is a good fit for a contained task — lighting on time or sensors, pump control, irrigation, ventilation, gate control, heating logic. Once a project needs many distributed points working together across a building, KNX is the better-suited system.
