Ajax Systems

EN 50131 Grade 2 certified wireless security — the most installed system in Central and Eastern Europe.

Ajax Systems (founded 2011, Kyiv, Ukraine — EU operations from Warsaw, Poland) is the fastest-growing professional wireless security system manufacturer in Europe. Their Jeweller radio protocol provides reliable two-way encrypted wireless communication at 868 MHz, with EN 50131 Grade 2 certification across the system — meeting European insurance requirements for residential and light commercial alarm installations. Ajax is the standard choice in Baltic, Polish, Czech, and Slovak smart home projects.

Role in our panels

How we use Ajax Systems

Ajax covers the complete security system: IP alarm hub (Hub 2, Hub Hybrid), wireless perimeter sensors (motion, door/window, glass break, vibration, flood, smoke/CO), indoor sirens and outdoor strobes, keypad and card readers, and a cloud-based monitoring platform (Ajax Cloud). The Hub 2 supports up to 100 devices and integrates with professional monitoring centres via SurGard, Contact ID, and SIA over IP. All Ajax sensors use the proprietary Jeweller protocol (868.0–868.6 MHz) for tamper-resistant two-way communication with battery life of 3–7 years.

In our panels, Ajax integration with KNX operates via two paths: (1) Hardware outputs — Hub 2's relay outputs and binary inputs connect to KNX binary inputs and relay actuators for alarm arm/disarm, alarm event, and door lock control. (2) Software bridge — Ajax Systems API or Home Assistant Ajax integration → KNX group address; alarm state (armed/disarmed/alarm) published to KNX for visualisation, 'alarm' telegram triggers KNX siren actuator or scene. The preferred path in our installations: HA as the bridge, giving full access to all Ajax event types and zone states.

Used in these project types

Premium residential — KNX smart home + Ajax security in one system
Villa projects — perimeter motion detection + interior zones
Apartment buildings — individual apartment security with central monitoring
Offices — intrusion detection with KNX integration for after-hours automation
Retail and light commercial — Grade 2 certified system with monitoring centre

Key components we install

25472Alarm Control Panel

Hub 2 (2G)

Main alarm hub. Supports 100 Ajax Jeweller devices. 2G/Ethernet dual-path communication to monitoring centre. Integrated logic for arming schedules, automation rules (if motion detected → turn on lights). Relay output for KNX binary input.

37745Alarm Control Panel

Hub 2 Plus

Premium hub. 4G + 2G + Ethernet + Wi-Fi. 200 devices. Faster polling rate (Fibra wired bus compatible). For large projects requiring maximum reliability and wired+wireless hybrid.

10299PIR Motion Sensor

MotionProtect

Wireless PIR motion detector. 868 MHz Jeweller. 12m × 90° coverage. Pet immunity (20kg) via MotionProtect Plus variant. Tamper protection. 3 years battery life. EN 50131 Grade 2 certified.

10294Door/Window Sensor

DoorProtect

Magnetic door and window contact sensor. Jeweller wireless. Reports open/close state with <0.15s latency. Tamper protection. Used on all entry doors and windows in residential security zones.

33143Smoke + CO Detector

FireProtect Plus

Wireless combined smoke (photoelectric) and CO (electrochemical) detector. EN 14604 + EN 50291. Reports to Ajax Hub and triggers siren. Battery life 4 years. Also triggers KNX smoke alarm group address via HA.

28732Security Keypad

KeyPad TouchScreen

Touchscreen keypad for arm/disarm via PIN or card (MIFARE 13.56MHz). Wall-mounted near entry. Groups can be armed individually. Replaces traditional keypad in Ajax residential and light commercial projects.

Ajax Systems FAQ

Can Ajax alarm events trigger KNX actions?

Yes — two methods: (1) Hardware: Hub 2 relay output closes on alarm → KNX binary input 1 → KNX actuator (e.g. all lights ON at full bright). (2) Software: Ajax API event → Home Assistant → KNX group address telegram. The HA path provides more granularity — separate actions for motion, door open, alarm, arm/disarm, fire, etc.

Can KNX arm or disarm the Ajax system?

Yes — via Home Assistant: KNX 'departure scene' group address → HA automation → Ajax integration service call 'arm_away'. And vice versa: Ajax Hub 2 relay output → KNX binary input → KNX scene 'alarm armed' (dims all lights, sets heating setback). The bidirectional bridge via HA gives full cross-system automation.

Is Ajax Systems certified for insurance-grade alarm systems in the EU?

Yes — Ajax systems carry EN 50131 Grade 2, Environment Class II certification, which is the standard required by most EU insurance companies for residential and light commercial alarm systems. Hub 2, MotionProtect, and all primary components are individually Grade 2 certified. For Grade 3 (bank/high-value commercial), a wired Satel or DSC system is required.

What is the Ajax Jeweller radio protocol range?

Jeweller operates at 868 MHz with a range of up to 2km open space between Hub and device. In practice, in a residential building with walls, expect 200–400m per hop. Ajax OS 3.0 supports Signal Strength Indicator in the Ajax app for optimising device placement. The system does not support mesh repeating, so Hub placement is critical in large properties.

What monitoring centre protocols does Ajax support?

Ajax Hub 2 supports SurGard (Osborne-Hoffman format), Contact ID, and SIA DC-09 protocols over IP for connection to professional monitoring centres (AMC/PSIM). This allows Ajax to integrate with existing monitoring infrastructure used by Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian security companies.
