Baxi (Bassano del Grappa, Italy) manufactures the Baxi Platinum+ inverter heat pump (5–16 kW), Auriga air-to-water heat pump, and Duo-tec range combi boilers. Popular in the UK and Italian residential market, Baxi systems integrate with KNX via Modbus RTU/TCP gateway.

How we use Baxi
Baxi Platinum+ Heat Pump KNX integration: Modbus RTU on RS485 service port (RJ45 on control board). Baud rate 19200, parity even, stop bits 1, unit ID 1. Key registers: 0 (system operating mode uint16: 0=off, 1=heating, 2=cooling, 3=DHW), 1 (setpoint temperature, int16, degCx10), 10 (flow temperature, int16, degCx10), 11 (return temperature), 12 (outdoor temperature), 20 (heat pump compressor status: 0=off, 1=running), 21 (defrost active), 30 (energy counter kWh, uint32). MDT Modbus Gateway: connect RS485 to USB or direct RS485 terminal, configure RTU mode. Map flow temperature to KNX DPT 9.001, compressor state to DPT 1.001. Write setpoint via KNX DPT 9.001 object to register 1 (multiply by 10). Baxi Auriga 8 kW: same Modbus structure, configured via Baxi Connect app. OpenTherm: Baxi combi boilers (Duo-tec, Platinum Gas) have OpenTherm 1.0 interface — connect Remeha/Baxi OT-KNX interface or Teletask OpenTherm-to-KNX adapter. DHW control: KNX 1-bit GA to Modbus write register 0 = 3 (DHW priority). Zone valve control: Baxi Multifit zone valves are dry contact (24VAC) driven by KNX switching actuator relay output. SG Ready: Baxi Platinum+ supports SG Ready 4-state via dry contacts on terminals SG1/SG2. 'Normal' = both open, 'Boosted' = SG1 closed, 'Locked off' = SG2 closed, 'Forced on' = both closed. Wire to KNX binary output for tariff coordination.
Baxi Platinum+ heat pumps integrate via Modbus RTU (RS485, 19200 baud) for setpoint, mode, and temperature telemetry. Baxi gas boilers use OpenTherm. All Baxi systems support SG Ready dry-contact interface.

12 kW three-phase Auriga series ASHP with modulating compressor. R410A or R32. Modbus RTU same register map as Platinum+. Baxi Connect app for setup, OTA firmware.
Baxi Duo-tec Combi 28 kW
28 kW combi boiler with OpenTherm 1.0 interface. KNX integration via OpenTherm-to-KNX gateway (Teletask OT module or Remeha OT bridge). Modulating control (20-100%) from KNX setpoint.

Does Baxi Platinum+ support Modbus TCP or only Modbus RTU?
Baxi Platinum+ provides Modbus RTU via RS485 on the service port (RJ45). For Modbus TCP access from KNX gateway, use a Modbus RTU-to-TCP converter (e.g. USR-N510 or Moxa NPort) connected to the RS485 port. The RTU register map (unit ID 1, baud 19200) is identical over TCP.
