How we use Bosch Security Systems
Bosch BVMS (Building Video Management System): BVMS 11+ has a KNX plugin (available as BVMS Extension) — camera events (motion detection, line crossing, loitering) trigger KNX group telegrams. Configuration in BVMS: add KNX IP Interface (IP address/port), create action rule (event: camera motion → action: write KNX group object). Example: loading bay camera motion → KNX GA for floodlight on (DPT 1.001). Bosch Solution 6000 alarm panel (16-128 zones): integrates via RS232 or TCP to KNX alarm gateway (LOYTEC LGATE with Bosch Solution driver module). Zone alarm state mapped to KNX binary objects — zone 1 alarm → KNX GA 8/1/1 ON → KNX floodlights on + siren relay. Arm/disarm status → KNX GA for HVAC setback. AVENAR fire panel: BACnet/IP interface — LOYTEC LGATE maps fire alarm BACnet objects to KNX. Fire alarm zone active → KNX scene activates (lights full, smoke control dampers open, lifts recalled to ground). Bosch Flexidome IP cameras: support ONVIF Profile S — Home Assistant ONVIF integration can receive camera events and bridge to KNX via HA KNX integration. No dedicated KNX plugin needed for simple event-to-relay mapping.
Bosch BVMS has a KNX Extension plugin for direct camera event to KNX telegram. Bosch Solution 6000 and AVENAR fire panels integrate via LOYTEC LGATE with BACnet/IP or RS232 driver mapping alarm zones and system states to KNX binary objects.

Does BVMS connect directly to KNX TP bus?
No — BVMS KNX Extension connects via a KNX IP Interface on the building LAN (Ethernet). The KNX IP Interface bridges to the KNX TP bus. BVMS server communicates with the KNX IP Interface over IP, and the interface forwards telegrams to KNX TP devices. A physical KNX TP connection to the BVMS server is not required.
Bosch Solution 6000 to KNX: RS232 or TCP?
Both options exist depending on panel firmware and LOYTEC LGATE driver version. RS232 is preferred for older Solution 6000 panels; TCP serial is available on newer firmware versions. Check the LOYTEC LGATE Bosch Solution driver documentation for supported firmware versions before specifying the communication method.
AVENAR BACnet/IP integration: which LOYTEC model?
LOYTEC LGATE-950 handles BACnet/IP to KNX mapping for AVENAR fire panels. Configure BACnet objects for each fire zone in LOYTEC LINX Designer and map to KNX binary group objects (DPT 1.005 alarm). LGATE-950 also supports COV (Change of Value) subscription for instant fire alarm propagation to KNX without polling delay.
