Hager

Professional KNX DIN-rail devices — French engineering, excellent value.

Hager Group, headquartered in Blieskastel, Germany with R&D in Obernai, France, is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of electrical installation equipment. Their tebis KNX range covers DIN-rail actuators, binary inputs, dimmer modules and KNX power supplies — widely used in commercial and large residential projects across France, Germany and the Benelux region. Hager combines reliable German manufacturing with competitive pricing, making them our default choice for professional panels where cost efficiency matters.

Role in our panels

How we use Hager

Hager tebis KNX actuators are workhorses of the KNX world. The TXA612B 6-channel shutter actuator, TXA415B 4-channel dimmer and TXS620B 6-channel switching actuator cover the majority of residential and commercial panel requirements. Their DIN-rail footprint is compact, ETS parameters are well-documented, and the components are available throughout Europe with short lead times. For commercial projects requiring 24–64 channels, Hager actuators offer a significant cost advantage over premium brands.

In our standard commercial panels, Hager typically provides the switching and dimming actuator layer. We use the TXS620B (6× 16A relays) for lighting circuits, TXA612B (6× shutter) for blind/curtain motors, and TXA415B (4× 250VA dimmer) for dimmable loads. The TX502A KNX power supply with diagnostics is our standard panel bus power source for Hager-heavy installations. Binary inputs (TXB116B) read 16 potential-free contacts — door contacts, PIR outputs, conventional switches.

Hager FAQ

Is Hager a Tier-1 KNX manufacturer?

Yes. Hager is a founding member of the KNX Association and all tebis KNX products are KNX certified. They manufacture in Germany and France under ISO 9001. Hager components are widely used by major electrical contractors across Western Europe and carry full 2-year EU warranty.

How does Hager compare to ABB or Gira for KNX actuators?

Hager actuators are functionally equivalent to ABB i-Bus and MDT equivalents — they communicate via the same KNX TP bus with standard ETS applications. The main difference is price: Hager actuators are typically 15–25% less expensive than ABB and 30–50% less than Gira DIN-rail components. For large commercial projects, this creates a significant budget advantage with no compromise in KNX functionality.

Can Hager actuators be mixed with Gira or Jung switches?

Yes, this is standard practice. KNX is an open standard — Gira/Jung switches communicate via group addresses with Hager actuators without any compatibility issues. We frequently use Hager actuators in the panel alongside premium switch brands in the rooms.

Do Hager tebis KNX actuators support scene control?

Yes. All Hager tebis actuators support KNX scenes (up to 64 scenes via ETS). Scene values are stored in the actuator's non-volatile memory and activated by a single KNX telegram — no central controller needed.
