How we use Huawei FusionSolar
The SmartLogger 3000A is the recommended integration point for KNX and third-party systems in Huawei FusionSolar installations. The SmartLogger aggregates up to 80 SUN2000 inverters, LUNA2000 batteries, and DTSU666 Smart Power Sensors on a single RS485 or MBUS network, then exposes a unified Modbus TCP interface on port 502 — eliminating the need to connect directly to individual inverter proprietary ports. A single Modbus TCP connection to the SmartLogger IP provides access to all connected devices in a multi-inverter plant. The SUN2000 inverter uses a proprietary Modbus TCP implementation on port 6607 (not SunSpec-compatible). Direct connection to a single SUN2000 on port 6607 is possible for small single-inverter residential installations, but the Huawei-recommended approach for any multi-inverter or complex system is via SmartLogger on port 502. Key registers via SmartLogger: Inverter 1 AC Power at register 32064 (unit W, scale factor 0.001 — divide by 1000 for kW), LUNA2000 battery SOC at register 37760 (unit 0.1%, divide by 10 for percent), DTSU666 grid power at register 37113 (W, scale 0.001, signed value). The DTSU666-H Smart Power Sensor (DIN rail, 3-phase) provides grid import/export measurement via RS485 to the SmartLogger. It supports both MeterBus (MBUS) and Modbus RTU protocols — select Modbus RTU when configuring in SmartLogger device list. The DTSU666 is a certified revenue-grade meter in many European countries, suitable for export limitation compliance and feed-in tariff metering alongside KNX energy monitoring. DTSU666-H
3-phase DIN rail grid power sensor for Huawei FusionSolar systems. Modbus RTU RS485 to SmartLogger. Signed grid power at Reg 37113 via SmartLogger (positive=import, negative=export). Revenue-grade accuracy class 0.5S. DIN rail 4 modules. 80-260V AC 3-phase. Used for export limitation, feed-in tariff metering, and KNX energy management grid power input.

Which port does Huawei SUN2000 use for Modbus?
Port 6607 (proprietary) for direct connection, or port 502 via SmartLogger (recommended for KNX integration). Direct connection on port 6607 works for single-inverter residential installations but is not SunSpec-compatible and requires Huawei-specific register mapping. For any multi-inverter system or when using a KNX gateway, connect to SmartLogger on port 502 for the unified and more accessible Modbus TCP interface.
Can I read LUNA2000 battery data directly or via SmartLogger?
Via SmartLogger is recommended — it provides a unified Modbus interface for all connected devices. LUNA2000 connects to SUN2000 inverter via DC cable and communicates via proprietary bus — the battery SOC and power data are available in the inverter register map on port 6607, but are more reliably accessed via SmartLogger register 37760 (SOC). SmartLogger also exposes DTSU666 grid meter data in the same address space.
What is the LUNA2000 SOC register address via SmartLogger?
Reg 37760, unit 0.1% (divide by 10 for actual SOC percentage). For example, a register value of 750 = 75.0% SOC. This register is read from the SmartLogger Modbus TCP interface (port 502) — the SmartLogger reads LUNA2000 data from the connected SUN2000 inverter and exposes it in its unified register map. Confirm register addresses against the Huawei SmartLogger Modbus TCP Interface Definition document (available from Huawei FusionSolar portal).
