Premium Architectural DALI-2 Luminaires for Museums, Hotels and High-End Commercial
iGuzzini (Recanati, Italy) manufactures premium architectural lighting for museums, hotels, retail, and high-specification commercial spaces — Laser Blade spotlights and Trick LED downlights are specified by leading architects and lighting designers worldwide. All current products are DALI-2 compliant with DT8 tunable white (Tc mode), integrating with KNX building automation via standard KNX/DALI gateways.
Role in our panels
How we use iGuzzini
Laser Blade XS (spotlight, DALI-2 Part 1 + DT8): compact architectural spotlight for museums and galleries. DALI address 0-63, short address set via DALI controller or iGuzzini programming adapter. DT8 tunable white: DALI command 'Set Colour Temperature Tc' (Mired value 154-588, corresponding to 6500K-1700K). DAPC (Arc Power Control) 0-254 for dimming. Trick DALI downlight: flush ceiling downlight, DALI-2 Part 1, available with DT8 option. Palco LED museum spotlight: individual addressable fixture, directional rotation ±180° pan and ±60° tilt, DALI DT8 CRI 95. KNX/DALI integration: Theben DALI Poet 1 (1-bus gateway, 64 DALI devices) or ABB DA/S 8.16.1 (64 devices, 16 groups). ETS6 configuration: import iGuzzini DALI product into ETS6 DALI commissioning tool, assign short address, configure group membership. KNX group objects: DPT 5.001 (dimming level 0-100%), DPT 9.003 (colour temperature K), DPT 1.001 (on/off). Museum scene example: artwork 1 display (Palco with 3000K warm, 40% DAPC) called via KNX scene group telegram → DALI gateway → individual DALI commands to Palco address 3. Scene 2: gallery walkthrough (all Laser Blade 4000K, 60%) → group 1 DAPC + temperature. EN 15194 compliance: museums require UV < 75 µW/lm on artwork. iGuzzini LED modules have UV filtering as standard. Maximum 50 lux sustained on oil paintings (iGuzzini lux calculator available). Tunable white for circadian lighting: morning 5000K cool → afternoon 4000K neutral → evening 2700K warm, controlled by KNX time schedule writing colour temperature to DALI groups.
iGuzzini DALI-2 luminaires integrate via standard KNX/DALI gateways (Theben DALI Poet, ABB DA/S) — individual fixture addressing and DT8 tunable white enable museum-quality scene control from KNX building automation.

iGuzzini FAQ
Which KNX/DALI gateway supports iGuzzini DT8 tunable white?
Theben DALI Poet 1 (supports DT8 Tc commands) and ABB DA/S 8.16.1 M (DT8 Tc mode). Standard DALI gateways without DT8 Part 2 support can only control dimming (DAPC), not colour temperature. Always verify DT8 support before specifying a gateway for iGuzzini tunable white projects.
What is the Tc Mired range for Laser Blade XS?
154-588 Mired (corresponding to 6500K-1700K). Use the standard DALI 'Set Colour Temperature Tc' command with a Mired value in this range. KNX DPT for colour temperature: DPT 9.003 (conventionally used for Kelvin values in KNX DALI gateways, despite the DPT definition being °C).
Should I use individual fixture or group addressing?
For museums and galleries: individually address each Palco (short address 0-63) for per-artwork DALI control — each artwork has its own KNX group objects for independent scene recall. In corridors and offices: use DALI groups 0-15 for zone dimming — more efficient use of KNX group addresses and faster scene recall.
