Jung
Classic German KNX design — the LS 990 has defined switch aesthetics since 1968.
Jung, founded in 1912 in Schalksmühle, Germany, is the creator of the LS 990 — one of the most iconic electrical switch designs in the world. Still in production after more than 50 years, LS 990 is available with full KNX integration. Jung's A creation and LS zero ranges bring modern flat designs while maintaining the same modular KNX ecosystem. Beyond aesthetics, Jung manufactures a complete range of KNX DIN-rail actuators, DALI gateways and smart panel controllers.

Role in our panels
How we use Jung
Jung KNX switches are specified when architects require a more architectural, restrained aesthetic compared to Gira. The LS 990 series with its stepped profile is particularly popular in heritage renovations and German modernist interiors. We use Jung's KNX compact sensor 2180 as our standard multi-function sensor (temperature, presence, brightness) in open-plan spaces — it integrates directly with any KNX actuator via standard group addresses.
In our panels, Jung components typically cover the user interface layer — push-buttons, sensors and binary inputs. Jung's DALI gateway (3921 REGHM) is one of our supported DALI interfaces, providing 2× 64-ECG DALI lines with individual and group control. Where projects include Jung touch panels (LS Touch or SmartPanel), we configure them with the KNX group address map exported from ETS.

Jung products
Key components we install
Jung KNX Compact Sensor TS
Temperature, presence and brightness sensor in one compact unit. Configures in ETS as standard KNX DPT values — compatible with all KNX actuators.
Jung KNX DALI Gateway REG
2× 64 DALI ECG lines, 16 DALI groups, 16 scenes. DIN-rail mounted, configured via ETS DALI Configurator. Supports DALI-2 ballasts.
Jung KNX Binary Input 4x
4-channel binary input for potential-free contacts. Connects conventional switches, door contacts and relay outputs to KNX bus.
Jung KNX IP Interface REG
KNX/IP interface for ETS programming and IP backbone. Single KNX line connection, supports KNXnet/IP tunnelling and routing.
Jung A creation Pushbutton 1-gang
Single-gang pushbutton in A creation design. Available with KNX universal interface for scene, dimming or blind control.
Jung KNX Shutter Actuator 4x
4-channel blind/shutter actuator, 230V AC, 6A per channel. For motorised blinds, awnings and venetian blinds with slat angle control.
Jung FAQ
What is the difference between Jung LS 990 and A creation?
LS 990 (launched 1968) has a characteristic stepped profile, available in 43 colours and materials (bakelite, glass, metal). A creation is the flat, minimalist range launched in the 2010s — frameless, with a thin bezel. Both share the same KNX mechanism interfaces, so you can mix designs within one installation by simply changing the frame. A creation suits contemporary interiors; LS 990 suits classic and period properties.
Does Jung's DALI gateway support DALI-2?
Yes, the current Jung DALI REG HM gateway (3921 REGHM) supports DALI-2 (IEC 62386 Ed.2). DALI-2 adds device type certification, input devices (occupancy sensors, light sensors) and improved interoperability. For new installations we always specify DALI-2 certified ballasts and gateways.
Can Jung switches work with non-Jung KNX actuators?
Absolutely. KNX is an open standard — a Jung pushbutton sends standard KNX telegrams over the TP bus that any certified KNX actuator (Hager, ABB, MDT) will respond to. You're not locked into one manufacturer for actuators when you choose Jung for switches.
Are Jung panels available in custom finishes?
Jung offers LS 990 in over 43 colours/materials including anthracite, light grey, cream and various metallic finishes. Special order finishes (custom RAL, brushed metals) are available but have 4–6 week lead times. We confirm all finish options with the client before ordering.
