The ProSYS Plus hybrid panel (512 zones, EN 50131 Grade 2/3) and Agility 4 wireless panel (868MHz, Grade 2) integrate with KNX via auxiliary relay output modules — door events and zone activations trigger KNX binary inputs for building automation.

How we use Risco Group
The ProSYS Plus is Risco's flagship hybrid alarm control panel: 512 zones (wired or wireless mixed), RS-485 detector bus (Risco ProSYS bus protocol for supervised detectors), IP and PSTN dual-path reporting to ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) via RiscoCloud or direct PSTN DTMF. EN 50131 Grade 2 and Grade 3 certified (Grade 3 certification requires supervised zone loop with EOL resistor configuration and two-path reporting). Expansion bus supports relay output modules (RW132PO8 — 8 programmable relay outputs, volt-free contacts), keypad modules (RP432K), and zone expanders. The relay output modules are the integration point for KNX: each relay is programmed via Risco programming software to activate on specific zone events, system arm/disarm states, or system fault conditions. The Agility 4 wireless panel (868MHz, 2-way RF, AES-256 encryption) provides Grade 2 certified wireless alarm for residential and light commercial installations. 32 wireless zones, compatible with WatchOUT outdoor PIR (dual technology, pet-immune, 12m × 8m coverage, IP55), ProX-SMA interior PIR (pet-immune to 25kg, KX sensor lens), and RWKPD868 wireless keypad. The Agility 4 includes 2 wired relay outputs on the main PCB (programmable NO/NC, volt-free) — these relay outputs connect to KNX binary input modules for KNX integration. For more relay outputs, add the RW132PO8 expander via the Agility wired expansion port. KNX integration via relay module is the standard method: wire the ProSYS Plus or Agility relay output (NO/COM, volt-free dry contact) to a KNX binary input module (MDT BE-08.01, ABB SA/S8.2.2.1, or similar). In the Risco programming software (ProSYS Plus: RP128B keypad or PC programming), assign each relay output to a trigger condition: Zone X alarm → relay activates for duration Y (e.g. 5 seconds or latching); arm/disarm status → relay follows arm state; system fault → relay activates on fault present. The KNX binary input module sends KNX telegrams on each relay state change. Typical KNX group address assignments: zone alarm GA (lighting panic scene), arm/disarm GA (HVAC setback mode, access control interlocking), fault GA (BMS maintenance alarm). The iRISCO cloud platform provides remote alarm management independent of KNX: iOS and Android app for remote arm/disarm, push notifications on zone alarm and system fault, live zone status, and event log. iRISCO connects via the panel's IP module (RW132IP ethernet interface) to Risco cloud servers. This provides field service monitoring without BMS or KNX dependency — useful for property managers and security companies. iRISCO does not provide a direct API for KNX integration, but the combination of iRISCO for remote monitoring and relay output for KNX event triggers covers all practical integration requirements.

Battery life approximately 3 years. Used at building perimeter and garden for outdoor intrusion detection integrated with Risco Agility 4 wireless panel.
Risco ProX-SMA Pet-Immune Interior PIR
Wireless interior PIR with KX sensor technology: pet-immune to 25kg, 12m × 15m coverage, 868MHz 2-way, AES-256, anti-masking. Used in residential and commercial interior zones for intrusion detection without false alarms from pets. Compatible with Agility 4 wireless panel. Wired version (ProX) also available for ProSYS Plus wired zone input.
iRISCO Cloud Management Platform
Cloud-based alarm management: iOS/Android app for remote arm/disarm, zone status, event log, push notifications on alarm and fault. Connects via panel IP module (RW132IP) to Risco cloud servers. Used by property managers and security companies for remote monitoring without ARC subscription. Complements KNX relay integration — iRISCO for mobile remote access, relay output for KNX building automation event triggers.

Does Risco have a native KNX protocol?
No — Risco does not have a native KNX protocol implementation. KNX integration is achieved via dry-contact relay outputs: the ProSYS Plus relay output module (RW132PO8, 8 programmable volt-free contacts) or the Agility 4 on-board relay outputs connect to KNX binary input modules. Each relay is programmed in Risco software to activate on a specific alarm event, and the KNX binary input sends the corresponding KNX telegram. For software-level integration, Risco IP reporting to cloud platforms (iRISCO) can theoretically be bridged to KNX via third-party middleware (Node-RED, Home Assistant), but this is not officially supported and requires custom development.
Risco vs Satel vs Paradox — which to choose for a European KNX project?
All three are professional intrusion alarm panels with similar EN 50131 Grade 2/3 capabilities and relay output options for KNX integration. The choice depends primarily on local installer support: Satel (Poland) is dominant in Poland, Czech Republic, and Eastern Europe with deep installer networks; Paradox (Canada) is popular in Middle East, Mediterranean, and parts of Western Europe; Risco is strong in Italy, Israel, France, and Southern Europe. For PanelCraft projects in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe, Satel INTEGRA panels are widely supported. For Italian and Middle East projects, Risco ProSYS Plus has strong local support. Technical integration chain to KNX is identical across all three — relay output to KNX binary input.
EN 50131 Grade 2 vs Grade 3 — what does it mean for the KNX panel design?
Grade 2 (residential and light commercial, low risk) allows simplified zone loop configuration and single-path IP reporting. Grade 3 (commercial and high-value premises, medium risk) requires supervised zone loops with EOL resistors in specific configurations, two-path reporting (IP + PSTN or dual IP), increased tamper protection, and audible alarm device supervision. For the KNX panel build, Grade 3 projects require additional space planning: the Risco IP module and PSTN module both occupy DIN-rail space in the alarm panel section, plus the relay output modules for KNX integration. PanelCraft typically separates the alarm panel section from the KNX panel section within the same enclosure for Grade 3 installations, using a physical barrier for insurance compliance.
