SOCOMEC
MID-Certified Energy Meters and UPS for Smart Building Sub-Metering
SOCOMEC (Benfeld, France) manufactures energy measurement, protection, and power continuity equipment — Countis and Diris Digiware series meters are MID-certified and widely used for BREEAM and ISO 50001 sub-metering in European commercial buildings. Modbus RTU/TCP interface enables direct KNX building automation integration.
Role in our panels
How we use SOCOMEC
Countis E24 three-phase meter: 5A CT input, Modbus RTU (RS485, 9600 baud default, unit ID 1-247) and Modbus TCP (port 502). Registers (all holding, FC3): 0x000C (active power P, int32, W), 0x0016 (reactive power Q, kVAR, int32), 0x0022 (apparent power S, kVA, int32), 0x0024 (power factor, int16, 0.001), 0x0034 (active energy Ea+, uint32, Wh), 0x0044 (phase voltage L1, uint16, 0.1V). Diris Digiware: DIN rail modular metering system — M-30 Modbus TCP hub accepts up to 8 I-30 sub-meter modules (each monitoring one three-phase circuit); single Modbus TCP address for the hub, sub-meter data accessed via hub registers. SOCOMEC Netys RT UPS: Modbus RTU register map — battery level (%), load (%), bypass mode (binary), autonomy (minutes). KNX integration: Weinzierl KNX Modbus TCP gateway (IP address of Countis E24 or Diris hub) — map registers to KNX DPT 13.013 (energy Wh), DPT 14.056 (power W), DPT 9.021 (power factor). BREEAM Ene 02 sub-metering: one Countis E24 per BREEAM sub-metering zone (lighting, HVAC, small power, transport) — KNX group addresses per zone for M&T reporting.
SOCOMEC Countis E24 and Diris Digiware meters connect via Modbus TCP to KNX gateway — active power, energy, and power factor values feed KNX building energy dashboards and BREEAM Ene 02 sub-metering reports.

SOCOMEC FAQ
Which Modbus register holds active energy on the Countis E24?
Register 0x0034 (uint32, Wh) for active energy. On Diris Digiware, the hub register is 0x0100 + (sub-meter index × 0x60) + 0x0034 for each circuit.
Is the Countis E24 MID certified for billing-grade accuracy?
Yes — Countis E24 is MID Annex B certified, Class 1 accuracy. Suitable for tenant billing, BREEAM Ene 02 compliance, and ISO 50001 energy audits.
When to use Diris Digiware versus multiple Countis E24 meters?
Diris Digiware is more cost-effective per circuit for 4+ circuits in the same distribution board. Countis E24 is preferred for circuits in separate boards or buildings where individual Modbus TCP addresses are needed.
