How we use Zennio
Zennio's strength is in the intersection of design and function. Their Z50 and Z100 room controllers combine touchscreen scene control, fan coil management, thermostat, and room status signalling in a single device — perfect for hotel room automation where the number of physical switches must be minimised.
In our hotel panels, Zennio Z50 room controllers are the primary guest interface: card reader input, DND/MUR buttons, fan coil control, and lighting scene recall. Their KLIC-DD fan coil actuator sits in the distribution board and controls 2-pipe or 4-pipe fan coil units directly via KNX commands from the Z50.

Z50 Room Controller
10-button capacitive touch. Temperature setpoint, fan speed, DND/MUR, scene recall. Used as primary hotel room interface. Fits standard back-box.
Z100 Room Controller
Larger 100mm square touch panel. Same functionality as Z50 with more visual real estate. Used in suites and apartments.
KLIC-DD Fan Coil Actuator
Direct KNX control of 2-pipe and 4-pipe fan coil units: 3-speed fan, motorised valve (0-10V or on/off), temperature feedback. DIN rail mount.
Flat 5 Inch Display
5-inch colour touchscreen. Visualisation of KNX group values, scene recall, thermostat. Used in apartments and office reception.
Card Reader Interface
RFID/magnetic stripe card reader module that sends KNX binary telegram on card insertion. Triggers welcome/goodbye scenes in hotel rooms.
Energy Card Box
Flush-mounted energy card holder with contact switch. Simple and reliable: card in = circuit on, card out = delayed all-off.
Zennio FAQ
Is the Zennio Z50 compatible with any KNX system?
Yes — Z50 is a standard KNX TP device. It works with any KNX actuators, gateways, and IP routers from any certified manufacturer. ETS programming is required for configuration.
Can the KLIC-DD replace a standalone fan coil controller?
Yes. The KLIC-DD acts as the fan coil unit controller, receiving temperature setpoint and mode commands from KNX (from the Z50 or any KNX thermostat). It controls the FCU's fan speed and valve position directly. No separate wall thermostat needed.
Does Zennio work in hotel GRMS integration?
Yes — the Z50 sends DND, MUR and room status to KNX group addresses. A KNX-IP gateway then bridges these states to the GRMS system (Optima, Protel) via BACnet or TCP. Zennio also has a GRMS-specific firmware for the Z50.
What programming environment does Zennio use?
Standard ETS5/ETS6 — Zennio products appear in the ETS database as standard KNX devices. Zennio provides a separate CONF.APP software for advanced Z50/Z100 screen layout configuration, supplementing ETS.
