IP intercoms & door stations

IP intercoms & door stations are entrance panels that combine a camera, microphone, and call button, ringing a phone, tablet, or indoor monitor over the network instead of a dedicated 2-wire bus.

A station connects by Ethernet or Wi-Fi and typically takes PoE (802.3af) for power and data on one cable; call routing uses SIP, ONVIF for video interop, or a manufacturer's own app.

  • Call routing — SIP works with any compatible indoor monitor or softphone; a proprietary app ties the station to one ecosystem.
  • Power — PoE avoids a separate transformer; check the switch port budget against the station's draw.
  • View — wide-angle lenses (110°+) and IR or white-light night vision cover the full doorway at night.
