Network racks & cabinets house switches, patch panels and fiber units in a standardised 19-inch mounting format.

Sizing starts with rack units (U) and internal depth in mm. Wall cabinets from 6U to 15U suit small comms rooms; floor cabinets from 24U to 42U suit main data rooms.

• Rack units — sum the U-height of switches and patch panels before choosing a size
• Depth — match internal depth in mm to the deepest device planned
• Fiber — SC/LC adapter count in fiber cabinets sets terminated fiber capacity
