Network & Structured Cabling
Network & Structured Cabling covers the routers, switches, fiber, and rack infrastructure that carry data and power between network devices.
The range spans ten subcategories: LTE and broadband routers, PoE and managed switches, fiber optic links, patch panels, network racks and cabinets, access points, NAS storage, firewalls, and surge protection. Selection depends on cable category, PoE budget, and port density needed per rack.
- Cabling class — Cat5e for 1 Gbps runs; Cat6/6a for 10 Gbps or longer distances; single-mode fiber beyond 100 m or between buildings.
- PoE budget — 802.3af (15.4 W) for access points; 802.3at (30 W) for PTZ cameras; 802.3bt (60-90 W) for high-draw devices on one switch.
- Rack sizing — 19" rack units (U) and cabinet depth must match switch, patch panel, and NAS dimensions before ordering.
