Circuit Protection

Circuit Protection covers the DIN-rail devices that disconnect a circuit on overload, short circuit, earth fault or transient overvoltage.

The category splits by protection function rather than one product type: miniature circuit breakers (MCB) handle overload and short circuit to EN 60898-1, residual current devices (RCCB) and combined RCBOs add earth-fault protection, and surge protective devices (SPD) clamp transient overvoltage. Choice depends on rated current in A, breaking capacity in kA, and trip curve (B, C or D).

• Circuit breakers (MCB) — overload and short-circuit protection by trip curve and rated current
• RCCB / RCBO — earth-fault protection at 30 mA for personal safety or 300 mA for fire protection
• Surge protection (SPD) — Type 1, 2 or 3 depending on exposure to lightning and switching transients
